The Role
As a Strategic Buyer at Pipelife, you play a crucial role in achieving their departmental and organizational goals. You do this by conducting structured tendering processes, sourcing new suppliers, negotiating contracts, and managing supplier relations. Additionally, you are responsible for quarterly meetings with key suppliers and actively contribute to structuring and optimizing procurement strategies. You ensure a strong connection between operational and strategic procurement objectives and have the opportunity to make a real impact within an internationally operating company.
Within the procurement department, they are working on an improvement plan with various optimization projects. Together with your team-lead and colleagues, you contribute to the further professionalization of the department. This role also has an international component: depending on the project or procurement process, you collaborate with internal teams and international category and commodity teams within the Wienerberger Group. This offers a great opportunity to further develop your skills and gain international experience.
What Will You Do?
- Tactical procurement processes: Set up and execute RFP/RFQ processes using a structured approach by defining evaluation criteria in close collaboration with involved teams.
- Supplier selection & contracting: Evaluate quotations, negotiate, and select suppliers for both direct and indirect procurement.
- International collaboration: Coordinate with central category and commodity teams within the Wienerberger Group to strengthen procurement strategies.
- Professionalization: Actively contribute to the development and further professionalization of the procurement department.
What is Expected From You?
We are looking for a professional with at least 5 years of experience in strategic procurement and a completed higher education (Bachelor’s/Master’s) degree. You possess strong analytical and negotiation skills and are effective in collaborating with internal and external stakeholders. Additionally, you have a proactive attitude and a strong sense of teamwork.
You have experience with RFP/RFQ processes, supplier selection, and contract negotiations. Knowledge of supply chain and process optimization is a plus. You communicate fluently in both Dutch and English and are capable of approaching complex procurement processes in a structured manner.
